Awards
Each year, the Scarlett Family Foundation will award scholarships in varying amounts based on financial need. The minimum scholarship amount will be $2,500 per academic year. The maximum award is $15,000 per academic year. Scholarships are renewable awards for up to four years or until the recipient completes their undergraduate degree, whichever comes first. The renewal of the scholarship will depend on continued positive academic performance and financial need.
The scholarships will be applied to tuition, fees, books, supplies, and equipment required for course load at accredited, nonprofit four-year colleges/universities in the United States. A student may transfer from one institution to another and retain the award.
Winner Selection
An Independent Selection Committee will evaluate the applications and select the winners. The use of this committee is designed to ensure the impartiality and confidentiality of the selection process. In evaluating the applicants, the committee will consider the applicants' financial need, academic records, community service, extracurricular activities, essay content, and involvement in entrepreneurial activities as described in the eligibility requirements. Winners will be notified 3 months past the deadline.
Responsibilities of Recipients
Recipient responsibilities include enrolling as full-time undergraduates in the fall of the year in which the scholarships are awarded and continuing in school for the entire academic year without interruption, barring illness, emergency, or military service. Scholarship recipients are responsible for delivering their scholarship checks to the proper office at their institution.
Payment of Funds
Checks will be mailed to each recipient’s mailing address and will be made payable to the institution only. Checks will be issued in August for the fall semester and December for the second semester.
Program Administration
To assure complete impartiality in selection of winners and to maintain a high level of professionalism, the program is administered by International Scholarship Tuition Services, Inc. (ISTS), a firm that specializes in managing sponsored scholarship programs.
