Awards
Each year, the Scarlett Family Foundation will award scholarships in varying amounts based on financial need, and is directly tied to the cost of the college/university the student attends. The minimum scholarship award is $2,500 per academic year. The maximum award is $15,000 per academic year. Scholarships are renewable awards for up to four years or until the recipient completes their undergraduate degree, whichever comes first. The renewal of the scholarship will depend on an annual review of financial need, full-time status, cost of the college/university where the student is enrolled, and positive academic performance based on their transcript.

The scholarship will be applied to tuition, fees, books, supplies, and equipment required for course load at accredited, non-profit four-year colleges/universities in the United States. A student may transfer from one institution to another and retain the award, however, the award amount is subject to change.

Winner Selection
An independent selection committee will evaluate the applications and select the winners. The use of this committee is designed to ensure the impartiality and confidentiality of the selection process. All decisions are final. In evaluating the applicants, the committee will consider the applicants' financial need, academic records, community service, extracurricular activities, essay content, and involvement in entrepreneurial activities as described in the eligibility requirements. 2013-14 school year winners will be notified by mid March 2013.

Responsibilities of Recipients
Recipient responsibilities include enrolling as full-time undergraduates in the fall of the year in which the scholarships are awarded and continuing in school for the entire academic year without interruption, barring illness, emergency, or military service. Scholarship recipients are responsible for delivering their scholarship checks to the proper office at their institution.

Payment of Funds
Checks will be mailed to each recipient’s mailing address and will be made payable to the institution only. Checks will be issued in August for the fall semester and December for the second semester.

Scholarship Renewals
Students eligible to renew their scholarship will be notified by email from ISTS, Inc. in early March. The renewal of the scholarship will depend on the details outlined in the above 'Awards' section.

Program Administration
To assure complete impartiality in selection of winners and to maintain a high level of professionalism, the program is administered by International Scholarship Tuition Services, Inc. (ISTS), a firm that specializes in managing sponsored scholarship programs.
